The Strike 3 Foundation is a charitable agency that heightens awareness, mobilizes support, and raises funding for childhood cancer research. Founded in 2008 by Red Sox pitcher Craig Breslow, the tenets of the Strike 3 Foundation had been in place for some time. At age 14, Craig’s sister was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. More than fifteen years later, she lives an unrestricted life as a cancer survivor. Unequivocally, this success story is attributed to advancements in pediatric oncology treatment and research funded largely through generous donations and charitable efforts.
About curesearch (www.curesearch.org)
CureSearch unites the National Childhood Cancer Foundation (NCCF) and the world’s largest and most prestigious childhood cancer research organization, the Children’s Oncology Group (COG).
The COG’s network of 5,000 physicians, nurses, and scientists represent every pediatric cancer program in North America. CureSearch funding supports lifesaving, collaborative research, pioneering new treatments and cures. Once considered a fatal disease, childhood cancer is now curable in 78% of patients and with continued awareness, funding, and advances, it is hoped that that rate can be raised to 85% by the end of this year.
Through its website www.CureSearch.org, CureSearch offers a credible, comprehensive, and reliable resource for children with cancer, cancer survivors, and their families. The Strike 3 Foundation proudly supports the efforts of CureSearch.
