Wiffle® Ball Tournament
October 6, 2018 · Essex, VT
On October 6, 2018, the Strike 3 Foundation hosted its 4th Annual Wiffle Ball Tournament at Little Fenway in Essex, Vermont. The event, sponsored by JW Childs Associates and Entwistle and Cappucci LLP, raised over $45,000 in the fight against childhood cancers.
Fourteen teams participated in a full day of action, featuring matchups on replicas of Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, and Field of Dreams. The Trinity Bantams were again crowned Majors Division Champions, while the McDonalds Marauders were victorious in the Minors Division, in their first year of competition.
The most inspirational participants, were the group from Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, a local non-profit providing summer camp experiences and other programs to cancer patients, survivors, and their siblings.
Highlights of the day included a Home Run Derby, raffle, and Beer Garden hosted by Magic Hat Brewery. Strike 3 also would like to extend its most sincere thanks to custom sponsors Magic Hat Brewery, Voss Waters, R & R Trophy and Awards.
Executive Director of The Strike 3 Foundation, Craig Breslow, said "We are thrilled with the excitement and tradition we've built around this event. The tournament has grown into not only a meaningful fundraiser for us, but a fulfilling and enjoyable day for all involved. We look forward to continued growth as we begin to plan next year's edition, are thankful to a generous donor base, and are grateful that the Vermont community has welcomed us so graciously."
