Second Annual NYY Steak Luncheon with the Players

Oakland A's stars Andrew Bailey, Grant Balfour, Craig Breslow Brian Fuentes, Gio Gonzalez, Hideki Matsui, Kurt Suzuki, and Brad Ziegler joined Yankee 2011 All - Star David Robertson and over 80 guests to help raise $30,000 for pediatric cancer research at the Second Annual NYY Steak Luncheon with the Players. The unique event, which gives guests an opportunity to mingle and dine with current MLB stars was hosted by the Strike 3 Foundation, a charitable agency which mobilizes support, heightens awareness, and raises funding for pediatric cancer research.

The event was a success, according to Strike 3's C.E.O. Breslow, who said "Strike 3 sets out to offer it's donor base novel fundraisers, and we believe we did that here today. Last year's event attracted 50 guests, and raised about $15,000, so continuing a trend for this organization, this year's event was better attended, and raised more dollars for our important cause. Thank you to all of the guests who attended, the staff here at NYY Steak, Strike 3 C.O.O. Joe Lizza, and the players who took time from busy schedules to attend."

In addition to brief remarks from Breslow, and a video montage about this organization, steadfast Strike 3 supporter Steve Montovano addressed the crowd speaking to the dedication, commitment and sincerity of this organization. Montovano, currently undergoing cancer treatment, emotionally testified to the importance of pediatric cancer research. "I would gladly take on more cancer, so that no child had to get sick," he said.

Guests were treated to a lavish seafood appetizer, delicious lunch menu of filet mignon, fresh fish, or chicken, and dessert, and were rewarded with customized Strike 3 engraved steak knives, complements of Steakhouse Steak Knives.
