Inaugural First Pitch Celebrity Gala

In November 2008, the Strike 3 Foundation hosted its first major fundraiser, The First Pitch Celebrity Gala, in Connecticut. The event was a resounding success, selling out and attracting such celebrities as Hall of Fame journalist Peter Gammons, UCONN womens’ basketball coach Geno Auriemma, Cleveland Indians pitcher Jensen Lewis, former New York Met Joe McEwing, and MIT Blackjack team member and subject of the hit movie 21 Jeffrey Ma. Over $75,000 was raised at the event as a result of the generous contributions of companies and individuals.
