The Strike 3 Foundation raised over $12,000 at its second annual Celebrity Bartending Event at American Junkie in Scottsdale, AZ.
"I was a bit nervous about this event because last year’s was so successful and I was concerned we had set the bar too high, but I am once again incredibly impressed with this community. The event was even better attended, raised significantly more funds for a meaningful cause, and attracted the most notable celebrities in the area," said Strike 3 Foundation CEO Craig Breslow and Arizona Diamondbacks reliever. Breslow went on "despite being a new face on this team, I am grateful for the support from my new teammates, and also from the Major League Baseball community. There were representatives from nearly every team that trains out here."
The event was co-hosted by Issues Concerning Athletes, and featured Major League stars Justin Upton, David DeJesus, Ian Stewart, Craig Breslow, Trevor Cahill, Paul Goldschmidt, Joe Nathan, Wade Miley, Chris Jakubauskas, David Hernandez, Javy Guerra, Josh Collmenter, and other current Major League players tending bar. Other notable celebrities present included Brian Fuentes and Brandon McCarthy of the Oakland A’s, Chicago Cubs General Manager Theo Epstein, and ESPN baseball analyst Tim Kurkjian.
